Deer Creek Prairie Vale Open House

We have had such a satisfying kindergarten experience that has been packed full of creativity, learning, fun(ny) experiences and growth...literally!  I remember how excited I always was for open house when I was a kid. I couldn't wait to show my parents the artwork and neat things I had been working on over the past few months! Now, we get to experience this with our kids!

Journal Time
The kids get to write and draw in their journal
everyday.
She writes..." I am Repunzle with long hair..."

She showed us her favorite center.
Any guesses?
 Yup, Arts and Crafts!
This area is called the Loft. There is a reading area up above
and an arts and crafts table underneath.

 The Smart Board.

I have been wanting to see how this works all year!
The kids get to practice counting, learn math, read, study
the calendar, draw and even play games.

Mrs. Gallagher asked each child if they could have one dream come true what would it be. When we saw Cayman's response, it made our hearts proud to know where her heart and thoughts were. Parenting is hard work and it is encouraging to see the rewards from your harvest.

The kids get hugs every day. They work hard in making every student feel very special.

Ready...Aim...Fire!

So the secret is out...
I like to shoot guns!

A secret I'm sure most of you are shocked by.  I had never shot a gun until I met Brent. He and his uncle taught me how to skeet shoot and I loved it...the rest is history.
I was asked to go out on a date by a handsome young daddy the other night which included
eating at "The Republic Gastropub", followed by a round of shells at the local indoor gun range.

What a great time and something fun we share together!
Thanks babe for a great
 evening out!

Growing So Big- 4 months

I love to smile and laugh. I'm especically ticklish on my ribs and armpits!

Blowing spit bubbles is very entertaining.

14.4 pounds, 24.5 in long

The moment my daddy starts talking, I can't help but smile as big as I can!

My conversations with my family are always full of valuable information. I like to hear myself babble!

I can roll over from my belly to back, but don't really like to be on my belly very much.

I can hold my toys now and they taste
 pretty good.

Shhhh!

My big brother watches out for me and
 loves on me all day!
He thinks I'm big enough to play football with him.

Clairen
You are growing and changing so fast before our eyes. I try to slow time down and savor each moment I have with you, but it still seems to pass by way too fast! You are so much fun and I appreciate your easy going spirit. Nothing makes you upset...unless you are VERY tired! You endure our busy lifestyle and the ways we are ALWAYS kissing your cheeks.  Thank you for bringing a sweet peace to our home! We love you always, sweet cheeks.

Love,

A Date Night to remember!

Once a year Brent and I take Cayman on a date night. This is something we will eventually do for each child to give them a chance to be "the only child" for an evening.  We keep the day's events a secret for her to add to the anticipation of the fun! We started this with Cayman once she turned 2 years old and now it is time to start it with Cohen.
Cayman's evening started with going out to eat at the restaurant of her choice. This year we ate
at Texadelphia in Bricktown. We enjoyed yummy nachos and chicken strips while laughing at the sports bloopers on the TV in front of us as well as having a great time talking about whatever is on a 5 year old's mind.

Now that our bellies were full, snow tubing was the perfect way to use up our energy.
We found out this past summer that Cayman loves rollercoasters so we knew she would love this.
Wish I could have captured her expression when she saw what she was about to do! She loved it!
 ( oh yea...and so did I!)

What better way to end our night than to take a cozy Horse and Carriage ride through Bricktown.
We did this in 2009 for Cayman and it made such an impact that she couldn't stop smiling the entire ride and she talked about it all year. So we decided to give this to her again in 2010! After all...she is our Big Sis Princess!

Christmas 2011- All "wrapped" up!

If you thought you outgrew the magic of Christmas; you are allowed to experience the joy and excitement all over again once you have children. There is a great anticipation of the season the moment you see the first decoration adorned, see the light displays and listen to the Christmas songs that bring back warm safe feelings of your past childhood.  I love hearing about family traditions and we are discovering ours. One of our traditions we started when Cayman was a baby was to read and discuss the Christmas story, the birth of Christ, on Christmas Eve. Brent and I also started the tradition when Cayman was a baby that each year at Thanksgiving each child would get to open a gift and it would be this year's Christmas pajamas...which tend to be warn just about every night! I'm sure as the kids grow older we will introduce more traditions into their lives. Our Christmas was so full of laughing, over-eating yummy Christmas goodies, sleeping by the Christmas tree, driving around looking at Christmas lights and dancing to the light shows! We can wrap these memories up now and get ready for another exciting year of what ever comes our way!

Cohen 2 1/2 yrs.

Clairen 10 weeks

Cayman 5 1/2 yrs.

Downtown riverwalk

Downtown river taxi light tour with our friends.

Cayman's Kindergarten Christmas Party.

Our family Christmas theme this year was called "OH HO" because Cohen loves to see Santas...
he calls them "OH HO's."
We found this house in Edmond that had lights choreographied to music. The kids would dance
and go crazy to the music and light show so we made MANY nightly visits after dinner.

2011 Gingerbread house.

Christmas morning just before opening gifts!
Bapa got Cohen his first Train set. What a neat thing
they can do together as Cohen grows!
Cayman was so excited for Grammy to open
up Clairen's charm.

Their first matching outfits! Wow, is Cayman so proud!

We had a great Christmas and hope yours was too!

Growing so Big-3 months old

You at 3 months!

You smile all day long and started laughing!

You sleep from 7pm-7am without waking up!!
( This started at 10 weeks old)

You eat at 7am, 10 am, noon, 4pm, 6pm, snack at 7pm.

You love taking showers! You get so relaxed and even start cooing!

You love to hang out with me in the Moby wrap and would
rather see what is going on.

Still refuse a pacifier.

We love your chubby cheeks, double chin and rolls of fat!

Love the toothless grins!

Your sweet disposition and easy going spirit brings an assuring peace to our family. The fun has only begun and we look forward to watching your inward beauty grow even more than your outward beauty.
.... I love you
