Brown Rice by Hand- Dr. Mom

Clairen's first bite of food.
Organic Brown Rice by Dr. Mom
4-9-12

"Do you like brown rice by hand?"

I do not like brown rice my fam,
I do not like brown rice by hand.

Would you like it here or there?
I would not like it here or there.
I would not like it anywhere. I do not like brown rice by hand.
I do not like it my big fam.

Would you like it in your chair?
I do not like it in my chair. I do not like it here or there.
I do not like it anywhere. I do not like brown rice by hand.
I do not like it my big fam.

Try it! Try it!
and you may.
Try it and you may, I say! Please!

Not in a chair! Not here or there.
I will not eat it anywhere!
Not for a please.
Fam! Let me be!

Fam! If you will let me be,
I will try it.
You will see.

" Say, I like brown rice by hand!
I do! I like it, my fam!
And I would eat it in a chair.
And I would eat it here or there.
Say! I will eat it anywhere!
I do so like brown rice by hand!
Thank You!
Thank You,
my sweet fam!

Eggstravaganza!

Happy Easter!
On your mark...get set...GO! They're off and on a mission to find the most eggs.
Watch out for Bapa! Oh no! Here comes Bapa and he's going to race you
 to your egg!
We had a great day at Grammy and Bapa's house eating a yummy meal, hunting eggs and having quality family time.

Mom's ham. Mmmm!

Fun quality time.

I am thankful that because Jesus died on a cross for me that I can walk to the throne of God myself.  God bankrupt heaven when he sent His son Jesus to die on a cross so that WE can have eternal life and have complete forgiveness of our sins. Acknowledge your bondage and confess your sins to others and before God. Choose to follow Jesus completely and wholeheartedly and your life will never be the same.

Half Way There! 6 months-Growing So Big.

Happy 6 Months Sissy Baby!

1. We call you Miss Congeniality. You have a smile all day long.

2. You have started to give us all kinds of adorable expressions.

3. You are sitting in a high chair and have discovered sitting in a well cushioned
grocery cart is much more fun than the baby carrier.

4. We can see your intentions developing when you throw down your toys from the high chair .

5. Napping is now from 10 to 11:30, 1 to 3 and 5 to 5:30 (although you resist this one the most)

6. You prefer to sleep on your belly.

7. You can take baths in the bathtub now. Your splashing brings out the cutest giggles.

You are magnetic!

We love you.

**Spring Break**

March 19-March 25,2012

Monday

The first day of Spring Break it rained all day, so what
better way to spend it than playing in it !

Tuesday
Picnic in dad's office at work.

Getting to ride the green "boom boom" at dad's work
is something that is always exciting!

Wednesday
It rained again...so more playing in the rain!

Thursday
Finally putting Cohen's train set together and
hanging out with the Choo Choo!

Friday
Zoo Day!

Saturday
 Spending the afternoon at
our pond looking for tadpoles! Notice our 2 ducks in the background
that have taken up residence! Maybe we'll see babies this Spring?
We collected our tadpoles to watch them grow
and ended our day with a dunk in the pond!

Sunday
The tooth fairy is coming tonight!
We were eating ice cream at McDonalds and
Cayman's tooth fell out.

The beautiful weather, staying up late and sleeping in has spoiled us. Soon we will be starting the 30 day countdown for summer break and saying bye to a most memorable school year!

Growing So Big-5 months

So much has changed in the last month.
We love all the ways you make us smile! You are growing so big, Clairen!

1. You roll over both ways.
2. Can sit up only for a few seconds then lean way
forward or fall to the side.
3. You love to grab your toes and try to eat them!
4. You are attempting to take a couple of small steps
when I try to help you walk.

 5. You love to hang out and play in the excersaucer.
6. It's great to have you in the high chair at dinner now.
7. It's easy to make you laugh! Making funny faces at you
and playing Peek-A-Boo is your favorite.
8. 15 lbs., 8 oz.
9. You are good at reaching for objects or toys in your sight.
10. We started reading board books before naps and you seem to
enjoy the cuddle time.
11. Your eyes are turning Hazel.

12. Your nap times are changing. I can't help but take
pictures of you sleeping! You are leaning towards taking
 that long 3 1/2 hr
nap during the early afternoon.

13. Did I mention that you are so adaptable and easy going!
You have been a picture of health and have managed to remain completely
healthy since the day you were born despite the fact that our family has passed one sickness to
another the entire fall and winter. Ok, I think January was a good month for us, but
we had an unusual "sickly" winter.  A couple of weeks ago you and Cohen came down
with RSV. YIKES! What a strong little girl you are because you have battled your way
through it...breathing treatments and all!! Thank the Lord that we never ended up in the hospital and
you are on the road to recovery!

What a beautiful day to celebrate 5 months! Nothing like a breath of
fresh air. This beats nebulizing any day!
Clairen, you are our breath of fresh air!

Love,
       mom

Trash Day Green Day

We decided to have our lunch today outside on the back porch and enjoy the lovely day. Cayman had noticed there was some trash that had blown into our yard on the other side of our fence and our neighbor's yard. We live on 2.5 acres partially covered in trees. There are many places a piece of trash can become trapped on these windy Oklahoma days.

Cayman said to me " Mom, I remember reading in a book that trash can hurt the animals." " Can we go pick up the trash so the animals won't get hurt?" Although it wasn't the thing I wanted to do right away, I pushed aside my selfishness and told her it was a great idea. We grabbed a garbage bag and hiked over to begin our trash pick up. Once we got there we noticed there was actually a lot more trash than we thought and most was in the neighbor's yard. We ended up spending about 30 minutes cleaning up not just our yard, but mostly our neighbor's yard and had great fun doing it.  It was a great lesson for the kids on taking care of the environment as
it was for Brent and I too.
Cayman's good deed
 reminded me...

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!

What's New...OU???

For those of you who don't know, I actually have Sooner blood in me!
I was Sooner Born, Sooner Bred and when I die...well it will be sooner/cowboy dead!
I was born during an OU game and I was raised a sooner! I ended up at OSU because of my lifelong dream of being a veterinarian. My dad, although it  may have shortened his life expectancy, told me that I needed to go to OSU even in undergrad if I wanted to pursue that career.  I had the best time of my life at OSU those 8 years, but will always have a place in my life for OU too as crazy as it sounds!

Cohen thought it was so funny to see "Boomer"
dunk the basketball!

Cohen telling "BaPa"...O...U!!!

Grammy and BaPa took Cohen to his first OU basketball game for Valentine's Day. Even though we watch and talk about OSU atheltics, he is drawn to OU...could it be because he is politely educated about "Sooner-hood" every time he is around Grammy and BaPa? Even so, we will be fair and allow him to choose the teams he wants to root for. The important thing was he had fun quality time with his grandparents!
